WHAT'S NEW?
Briana spoke at the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum on March 15 about her book "Black Broadway in Washington D.C." Black x Art hosted the conversation that touched on the themes of community, local history, and art.
The long-awaited Go-Go Museum & Café is now open in the heart of historic Anacostia. The space is dedicated to narrating the lively history of the District’s homegrown music genre.

WHAT: A 90-minute guided walking tour to celebrate Women's History Month and the start of Jazz Appreciation Month on U Street. Our special edition tour Women of Black Broadway takes guests on a journey through LeDroit Park's historic community to discover the histories of local women writers, educators, singers, and entertainers who shaped DC and beyond.

ABOUT FOUNDER BRIANA THOMAS: Briana Thomas is an accomplished storyteller and historian, using her journalism background and debut book Black Broadway in Washington DC to establish Black Broadway Travel. She is the Arts and Culture Writer for Washingtonian Magazine, and has appeared in Smithsonian Magazine. Briana co-hosts a weekly culture radio segment and writes the monthly travel series "DC Getaway"for WTOP News. She earned a Master of Journalism from the University of Maryland-College Park and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications from Greensboro College. Briana’s walking tour company has been featured on television networks such as ABC, NBC and CBS. She is the assistant pastor of Light Church in DC.
